The Rooftop at Kampai made its debut in Summer 2023. With sweeping eastern views from the Gros Ventre Mountains to Snow King, it is a breathtaking experience conveniently located in downtown Jackson. The Rooftop offers a more casual dining experience, featuring a customized menu that is distinct from the main dining area. The rooftop menu is inspired by Izakaya, a Japanese style of restaurant that serves drinks and small plates. Izakaya started as an add-on feature of sake vendors who wanted to entice their guests to sample sake and stay a while with apps. The key feature of izakaya is a relaxed atmosphere, where guests are invited to “linger” over their drinks.

Our menu is a mix of sashimi, rolls, hot and cold plates, and curated cocktails, sakes, wine, and beers to match the menu. The hot menu on the Rooftop at Kampai is not to be missed. The Crispy Chili Tofu, the Bao Bun, and the Bou Gyoza are available exclusively on the rooftop.

The Rooftop also offers happy hour from 5 to 6 pm nightly throughout the summer and is the perfect place to start your evening or wind down from a day in the Tetons. 

If you are looking for an omakase, or a classic Japanese sushi bar experience, the main dining area is the perfect place to make your reservation. The Rooftop does not offer nigiri. 

Shaded from the afternoon summer sun, and equipped with heaters for the cooler summer days, the Rooftop is the place for a relaxed Japanese dining experience with a view.
