Great food for a great cause. That’s an easy way to catch our attention.

Fine Dining’s annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser is happening on Wednesday, Sept. 21, a unique progressive-style dinner that begins at Kampai and continues on to a seated meal on the Cloudveil Hotel’s rooftop.

James Beard award-winning chefs Chris Bianco and Marc Vetri, along with local chefs Chris Massad from Kampai and Samantha Taylor from Wander Catering, will craft a curated culinary experience. Each chef will prepare a course along with a wine pairing as guests enjoy apps and cocktails at Kampai and then travel to The Cloudveil rooftop.

The Fine Dining group has been supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand for the past few years, although the annual fundraiser has looked a little different each year. Initially they hosted a few private dinners either at a restaurant or private residence, then an at-home kit during Covid. This is the first year they’ll host a progressive-style dinner party, a format that Fine Dining’s Kendra Alessandro says they’ve been looking forward to for some time. “We wanted to offer a really unique dining experience to guests while supporting Alex’s,” she says. “This style is something we haven’t necessarily had here in the valley.”

Alex’s Lemonade Stand was started in 2005 by the parents of Alex Scott, who passed away from cancer at the age of eight. The organization has raised over $2.5 million to support cancer research and grants to support families and patients who need to travel for care. “As an organization, Gavin [Fine] wanted to support Alex’s because it’s an organization that merges two things he’s really passionate about: the well being of children and cancer research,” says Alessandro. “It’s a really great fit for us, especially since they do so much fundraising through chef-driven events and it’s important to us to keep supporting Alex’s however we can throughout the years.”

The evening will kick off at Kampai at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $375 per person, including a four-course dinner accompanied by wine pairings and dessert. Money raised from the event will go directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand’s pediatric cancer initiatives. You can purchase tickets here.
